Al-Wefaq Deputy Security-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, said that Bahrain has become a model for the absence of a free press and spread of yellow press responsible for polishing tyranny.
In a series of tweets on his Twitter account on the World Press Freedom Day, he said “I congratulate every journalist who has never been an insulter or a salesman of word, or an instigator of hatred in order to satisfy some sick politics desire. I congratulate every free journalist who has never filled his pen with the blood of journalists who were killed because of their free speech or imprisoned for tweeting.”
“On World Press Day, I congratulate every clean, professional and patriotic journalist, who has never been a trumpet or a tool for the whims and policies of dictatorial regimes, and never promoted a culture of corruption, tyranny and terrorism, as happened and has happened in Bahrain since 2011 until now.”
Sheikh Al-Daihi added “Press freedom is one of the foundations of democratic regimes and is the enemy of authoritarian regimes. Bahrain is a model for the absence of a free press and spread of the yellow press, which is responsible for polishing tyranny.”
