The Spokesman for Iran’s Health Ministry said the figures on the status of COVID-19 in Iran indicates the trend of the virus spread is falling down in comparison to other countries challenging before or after it.
In response to Press question on Wednesday 1 April over the assessment of the Coronavirus status in Iran and other countries, Kianoosh Jahanpour said the spread in Iran compared with other countries is slowing down, which is all due to efforts of Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the committees fighting the Coronavirus.
In a press conference held through video-conference, Jahanpour referred to the national project of social distancing and said that Iran is in the second phase of the project which is called ‘Significant Social Distancing’.
He noted that the phase has played a key role to control the virus outbreak and the strategy will continue, yet the strategy is different in each country due to social, cultural and specific aspects.
“We all hope to contain and control the disease altogether in the world as long as it requires global cooperation and it is a global responsibility to halt, contain and control the virus,” the health official said stressing it must be a priority to all governments in the world, otherwise it is improbable.
Jahanpour pointed to the warning situation rising in south-West Asia on the re-spread of the virus, expressing hope that with global cooperation all could contain and control Coronavirus.
