Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a statement said the Sunday inaugural of the ninth parliament shows that the Islamic Revolution could produce a solid governing system and that the Iranian nation could falsify the notion of separation of religion from social life through fielding a first ever religious democracy.
Islamic Revolution Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a statement appreciated the ninth IRI parliament that opened Sunday morning as a token of national Iranian resolve and solid structure of the Islamic Republic.
“The inaugural of the ninth parliament shows that the nation has overcome all existing enmities and that the Islamic Revolution has produced a solid governing system; it also proves the exceptional role of faith in the life and fate of any nation and depicts a genuine image of a nation that has falsified the notion of separation of religion from social life through fielding a first ever religious democracy,” the statement read.
Imam Khamenei said it was God’s favor that the nation could offer a genuine democracy to the world and that God has never abandoned the faithful nation in its challenging path during the past decades. The IR Leader saluted the nation for its mature performance in the political process.
Imam Khamenei then called on the elected lawmakers to be concerned only about their heavy, divine responsibility and avoid any personal or sectarian motivations in their legislative or supervisory activities, adding that anyone must abide by law at any situations whatsoever.
Imam Khamenei also urged the parliamentarians to consider public needs and national interests in their ratifications and that in the fourth decade of the Islamic Republic, called ‘decade of progress and justice,’ any ratifications must be attuned to the general indices.
Imam Khamenei said the parliament must portray the features of Islamic Republic, including faith, bravery, perseverance on Islamic principles, resistance against enemies, innovation, unity, national integrity and diligent efforts.
“Anyone should consider law as final say,” the statement urged.
The ninth IRI Islamic Consultative Assembly was inaugurated Sunday morning in presence of several high-ranking officials, foreign ambassadors and 288 newly elected MPs.
