Syrian Army troops and popular forces have driven Jeish al-Fatah terrorists out of over ninety percent of Housing Project 1070 in the Southwestern parts of Aleppo city, military sources said Wednesday.
“The present conditions show that Housing Project 1070 will be completely captured soon. There has remained only a few building blocks under Jeish al-Fatah’s control,” the sources said.
“Now the terrorists are under siege, trapped in the circle of government soldiers. They have no way out,” they added.
A field commander also said that the final phase of the liberation operation of Housing Project 1070 will be soon carried out.
Relevant reports said on Tuesday that Syrian government forces engaged in tough battle with the Jeish al-Fatah terrorist coalition in a key region in Southwestern Aleppo city, and captured most parts of the residential complex in the strategically located Housing Project 1070.
“Syrian military forces struck Jeish al-Fatah’s defense lines in project 1070, al-Hikmah school and Sowgh al-Jabas. The Jeish al-Fatah terrorists suffered tens of casualties in the attack and retreated from several building blocks in the residential complex,” the sources said.
“The Syrian government forces, backed up by the country’s fighter jets, targeted terrorists’ positions in Ma’arateh, Khalseh, al-Hamthareh, Tal Bazou, Khan Touman, near the air defense battalion, Syriatel hill and an industrial site in Southern and Southwestern Aleppo, inflicting major losses and heavy casualties on the militants.
Housing Project 1070 is located in the Southern part of Aleppo highway to the key provinces of Idlib and Lattakia. It is also on the Western side of the aviation and artillery collages near al-Ramouseh. Al-Hamdaniyeh district to the North of the Housing Project is seen as a main gate to the Southwestern neighborhoods of Aleppo city.
Seizure of Project 1070 can directly change the conditions of the battlefield in Southern and Southwestern Aleppo and will leave indirect impacts on the situation of the war in other districts of Aleppo city.
