Shia leaders back SOPs for Youm-e-Ali mourning congregations as they met in Karachi to finalise plan for martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS).
Veteran Shia Islamic scholar Allama Syed Razi Jafar Naqvi presided over the meeting.

All the leading Shia Islamic parties’ representatives attended the meeting at Imam Bargah Hussaini in PECH Society Block II.
They expressed their trust in the SOPs made for Youm-e-Ali as precautionary measures to ensure prevention of Coronavirus spread.
Government of Pakistan has extended conditional permission for religious congregations and linked it with acting upon the 20-point SOPs.
Sunni Muslims are offering congregational prayers five times a day. They are also offering non-obligatory taraveeh prayers in congregations.
They agreed to share these SOPs with azadars (mourners) in a joint pres conference so that they strictly observe the precautionary measures during mourning congregations.
Renowned scholar Allama Shahenshah Naqvi, Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi of MWM, Allama Shabbir Meesami and Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi also attended the meeting.
Moreover, representatives from Imamia Students Organisation, Scouts Rabia Council, Tanzeem-e-Aza, Markazi Tanzeem-e-Azadari, Jafaria Alliance, Payam-e-Wilayat, Shia Action Committee, Majlis Zakireen-e-Imamia, Haiyat Aimma Masajid also attended the meeting.
Medical experts joined them to elaborate the SOPs and precautionary measures.
