25 Shia Muslims arrested in Khanewal witchhunt ordered by DC and DPO, according to reports from the affected neighborhoods in Punjab province.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Police Officer (DPO) Khanewal have ordered crackdown on Shia Muslims ahead of Arbaeen (Chehlum) mourning.

Reports had it outlawed terrorist outfit’s ringleaders have dictated the government and police officials to sabotage Arbaeen anniversary of Imam Hussain-led Martyrs of Karbala.
Locals said the DC Zaheer Abbas Sherazi and DPO Mohammad Ali Waseem were also pressuring them.
On their orders, police violated privacy and sanctity of houses of Shia citizens as they carried out midnight raids.
They arrested Shia Muslims while they were sleeping in their houses in Abdul Hakeem neighbourhood in Khanewal district.
Relatives and friends have shared names of some of the victims as Sibtain, Asim, Qaiser, Akhtar Kharal, Adeel Kharal, Kharal.
Earlier, police arrested four Shia youth during a meeting at the Assistant Commissioner’s office.
