Sunni seminaries heads slam Mufti Muneeb for fanning sectarianism and for benefitting from anti-Islam banking.
They expressed these views at a meeting held under the aegis of Madaris Action Committee at Jamia Ilmiya Ichra Lahore.
Sunni seminaries heads slam Mufti Muneeb
Sahibzada Hussain Raza presided over the meeting wherein over 2000 heads of Ahle Sunnat seminaries attended.
They opposed government’s policy regarding seminaries, demanding separate registration for Sunni Brailvis seminaries have no link with (Deobandi takfiri) terrorists who attacked army and civilians and bombed shrines of saints.
Veteran cleric Pir Mehfooz Mashhadi had said that Mufti Muneeb had no link with Tanzimul Madaris and his illegitimate tenure also expired in 2019.
Ziaul Mustafa Haqqani said that Ittehad Tanzimaat Madaris Deenia kept them in dark.
The seminaries heads further said that Mufti Muneebur Rehman should publicly repent and apologise for depositing millions of rupees in banks for interest benefit.
Ahle Sunnat is a term which Muslims of subcontinent use for those Sunnis who revere mystic Muslim saints and reject Wahhabism and Deobandi school of thought.
Mufti Muneeb has joined hands with Wahhabis and Deobandis which irked ordinary Ahle Sunnat.
However, Ahle Sunnat seminaries heads opposed Mufti Muneeb on Islamic legal and moral grounds.
Wahhabis-allied Deobandi seminaries have produced violent extremists and terrorists who have massacred Pakistanis: security personnel, civilians and even bombed saints shrines.
