Shia leaders say fifth column within the govt sabotage Arbaeen
The Shia Islamic parties’ leaders asked the government and security agencies to ensure security of Chehlum mourners and facilitate them in bringing out mourning processions to pay homage to Imam Hussain.
They said that commemoration of anniversary of the 40th Day of the martyrdoms of Martyrs of Karbala is a regular annual feature.
They said people adore and revere Imam Hussain; therefore, they pay homage to Imam Hussain and other Martyrs of Karbala on Ashura and Arbaeen (Chehlum).
However, they urged the government to do its job instead of impeding commemoration of anniversary of the 40th Day of the martyrdoms of Martyrs of Karbala.
They said facilitating the commemoration of Chehlum (Arbaeen) and ensuring security of all participants of the mourning processions and congregations is responsibility of the government and security agencies.
They said that there are elements within the government’s ranks who want to violate the sanctity of sanctity of Chehlum mourning rituals through negative tactics.
Hence, they warned that they would not tolerate such dirty tactics.
Besides, they alerted the government to beware of such fifth column within their ranks and take immediate and stern action against such fifth column; otherwise, the government itself would be held responsible for consequences of such dirty tactics.
Moreover, they said that Chehlum azadari processions would be manifestation of Sunni-Shia unity across Pakistan.
Other leaders of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council, Imamia Students Organisation and other parties were also present on the occasion.
