Parents of martyr schoolchildren protest PTI Chief Imran at Peshawar School

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his newly-wed wife Reham Khan encountered protests by angry parents outside the gates of Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar on Wednesday. They turned down the politics on the sacred blood of their martyr children.

The parents of deceased students who lost their children in the APS tragedy- chanted “Go Imran Go” while holding placards rejecting PTI’s Imran Khan Visit. PTI is ruling party of the province and now people repent for their pro-Imran vote.

Protesters complained that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and Asad Qaisar had hurled abuse at them.

An emotionally agitated mother said, “When Imran Khan was making false promises, I grabbed him by the collar.” She said they were deeply shocked that Imran married and celebrated the wedding and then chose to visit Peshawar (just for the sake of honeymoon).

“150 students lost their lives here and nothing is being done about it,” another parent protested.

Parents said they would protest against the government after the chehlum of the martyred children. “We will definitely avenge the martyred, we do not need anyone to do that,” said a father.

The parents were overcome by anger and grief and criticized Khan for politicizing the attack. “Do not pour in politics all over the blood of our children,” said another angry father. He said his reject hypocrisy over their blood. He said he didn’t demand compensation but the sacred blood of martyr children require action against the terrorists.

Once inside the school, a handful of students greeted Imran Khan. But, due to the presence of angry parents outside, Imran Khan was forced to leave the school from the rear exit.
