Four suicide bombers identified by the investigators as involved in the assassination of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto were students of Deobandi seminary Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak that proudly claim credit for creation of Afghan Taliban’s government based in Kandahar.
Deobandi cleric Sami ul Haq of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami) JUI-S is in fact owner of the seminary after his father Abdul Haq’s demise. Sami recently announced at a meeting of 20 Deobandi outfits that Fazlur Rehman of JUI-F represent them in Pakistani parliament.
Benazir murder case is being heard by An Anti-Terrorism court (ATC-I) Special Judge Pervez Ismail Joya who on Thursday recorded the statement of another witness in the case.
ATC-I Special Judge Pervez Ismail Joya recorded the statement of Deobandi cleric Wisal Ahmad of Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak. Ahmad said that suicide bombers, identified by the authorities as Abdullah alias Saddam, Nadir alias Qari Ismail, Rasheed Ahmad alias Turabi and Faiz Muhammad were students of the (Deobandi) seminary.
He said that those arrested in the attack on a bus carrying Pakistan Air Force employees were also students of the seminary. However, he explained, whatever the Deobandi seminary students did was their personal action and the seminary was not involved.
Rasheed Ahmad alias Turabi, would be suicide bomber argued they had never been students of the seminary, refuting Ahmad’s claim. However, Ahmad produced records containing their registration and roll numbers. The record was made part of the case and cross examination of the witness was also completed. The judge then issued notices to five other witnesses and adjourned the case till March 2.
Organised Deobandi terrorism was patronized by the State during dictatorial regime of General Zia in 1970s and then Deobandis got Afghanistan as their Emirate where they imposed brutal laws in the name of Islam. Not to forget that Saudi Wahhabis-allied Deobandis turned into takfiris and terrorists in Af-Pak region.
JUIF and JUIF both remain allies of sitting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-N. JUIF’s Fazl Ur Rehman had been an ally of Benazir Bhutto during her tenure as Prime Minister. Asif Zardari, spouse of Benazir and former President of Pakistan too made him an ally. Zardari called him friend.
These are very interesting facts about the Deobandis and secular politicians who declare each other as enemy and rival but always shared power with each other. Unfortunately, Ms Bhutto also trusted in Deobandi takfiris and tried to defend Taliban in her second government 1993-96. Her interior minister General (rtd.) Naseerullah Babar called Taliban as his children. Their Frankenstein monster (Deobandi takfiri outfits and seminaries) killed Ms Bhutto.
