Majlis Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM), Pakistan People’s Party and Islami Tehreek of Pakistan devised three formulas for seat adjustment in six constituencies of Hunza and Gilgit.
According to the Lebanon-based news resource, Islam Times, this development was made in a meeting held in Gilgit, which was attended by Secretary General Majlis Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM) Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Allama Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini,
Sahibzada Hamid Raza of Sunni Itehad Council, MWM Secretary Politics Nasir Abbas Sherazi, Nadeem Afzal Chin of PPP, Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, Moulana Shabir Mesami of Islami Tehreek and former Senator Faisal Raza Abdi.
Earlier, the leader of Islami Tehreek of Pakistan Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi has rejected the proposal of alliance with any Shia party and PPP in the upcoming general elections for the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Legislative Assembly to be held on June 8. He was of the view that Islami Tehreek ready to support Pakistan Muslim League (N) in this election in GB, as political significance of PML-N cannot be ignored at all.
Moulana Shabir Mesami said that all the leaders met with Allama Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini on Sunday night, he hoped that a coalition would soon be come out in the upcoming elections.
