Deputy Secretary General Majlis-e-Wahdat-e Muslimeen (MWM) on Sunday said that Shia Solidarity Council would be established to promote harmony among Shia community of Pakistan.

Talking to IRNA, Allama Amin Shaheedi added that soon an announcement in this regards will be made.
He said that the MWM has been making all-out efforts to unite all Shia parties of Pakistan at one platform.
He further said that the leaders of the MWM have been carrying out regular meetings with the Shia leaders for the formation of the council.
Allama Amin Shaheedi expressing his views said that the objective of making Shia Solidarity Council is to protect the Shia community of Pakistan and stop their target killings.
He said that earlier National Solidarity Council was established to promote sectarian harmony but the council could not play an effective role to stop violence against Shias in Pakistan.
‘The decision to form Shia Solidarity Council had been taken in All Shia Parties Conference held in September this year,’ added Allama Amin Shaheedi.
In July this year, the leaders of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) had said that the major purpose of this front is to safeguard the ideology of Pakistan and counter nefarious designs of the imperialist forces against the country.
They announced that the MWM would fully participate in the next general elections and would defeat the pro-American elements in each corner of the country.
