Shia Muslims observe Eid-e-Baisat across the world

Shia Muslims of Pakistan are celebrating Eid-e-Baisat to commemorate the anniversary of formal announcement of Prophet-hood of Hazrat Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on Rajab 27.  Due to difference of dates of Islamic calendar in different countries on the basis of moon-sighting, Shia Muslims of the other countries celebrate Eid-e-Baisat on Rajab 27 of their own country where they are settled.

At the midnight between Rajab 26 and 27, faithful performed special prayers and recited Quran and prayed during congregations, individually, to commemorate the Eid-e-Baisat in Pakistan in particular.

Shia women also held special prayers and recited prays and Holy Quran to celebrate the Eid. Children wore new dresses. They also got Eidee from elders.

Jubilant youths expressed their gratitude to God for appointment of the last and final apostle and Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH)’s prophet-hood for humanity.

Celebrations were also reported from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, and almost all parts of the world where Shia Muslims are settled.
