The top office bearers of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organisation have demanded of the federation of Pakistan to grant full Constitutional rights to Gilgit-Baltistan and ensure its development on war-footing basis.
Allama Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, deputy secretary general of the MWM and Sarfaraz Naqvi, central president of ISO, made this demand at a joint press conference in Skardu during their visit to Gilgit-Baltistan.
They said that Skardu Road was announced and ground-breaking/ foundation-stone laying was held time and again but this road has not been constructed so far. They turned down the pretexts of the federal government to delay the grant of full rights to Gilgit-Baltistan. They said that federal government benefits from the resources of Gilgit-Baltistan but denied this area of its due rights.
They also demanded that those massacred people of Gilgit-Baltistan in Kohistan, Chilas and other parts must be hanged forthwith. They demanded an end to Zia-ism in Pakistan. They also opposed Pakistan in other countries wars.
