Agha Ali Rizvi asks army chief to play role for full rights to Gilgit-Baltistan

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Gilgit-Baltistan secretary general Allama Syed Agha Ali Rizvi has sent a letter to Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Jawed Bajwa and asked him to play his due role to ensure that Gilgit-Baltistan get full rights as an integral part of Pakistan.

“After having been disappointed with the government, we expect from Pak Army that in view of geostrategic importance of this precious land of Gilgit-Baltistan, your good self must play role to ensure full constitutional status to Gilgit-Baltistan,” he said, adding that at least state subject rule must be restored till the full constitutional status.
He also sought full legitimate rights to people of entire Gilgit-Baltistan, due share in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, resolving the issue of Kargil-Laddakh Road, full royalty payment of Diamer-Bhasha Dam, establishment of quality and well-equipped big hospitals and higher educational institutions, end to occupation and sell-out of people’s land in the name of so-called Khalsa Sarkar, development schemes and action against the corrupt and delinquent bureaucracy and government functionaries.
Agha Ali Rizvi said that he and other figures of the Gilgit-Baltistan have tried their best to persuade civilian government in this regard, but, they did nothing to determine the status of Gilgit-Baltistan. Instead, the civilian government abrogated State Subject Rule to deprive people of those negligible rights they were getting earlier. He said that people of Gilgit-Baltistan had been trying their best for their formal annexation and integration into Pakistan but their sincere efforts have failed, so far.
