Azerbaijan negotiates if Armenia withdraws from Karabakh: Aliyev

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan said on Twitter that he is willing to talk only if the Armenian forces withdraw from the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Elham Aliyev also wrote that Armenia must accept that the Nagorno-Karabakh region is not part of the country and must withdraw from the region on a timetable.

Aliyev further wrote that some European officials are responsible for the situation and are spreading rumors and lies about the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Elham Aliyev also condemned the behavior of European countries in opposition to peace and called on the Minsk Group countries (mainly Russia, the United States, France and the European Union) to put pressure on Armenia.

Military clashes between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on the border between the two countries resumed last Sunday while the two sides accusing each other of starting the war.

In 1994, following four years of military conflict between the two countries, some European and regional governments intervened to end the territorial dispute between Baku and Yerevan, and finally, with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group, a ceasefire was established between the parties of the conflict. However, international efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully have so far been unsuccessful.
