Martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali being observed today across the world, including Pakistan.
Shia Muslims throng the mourning congregations and processions on Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Ali (AS).

Pakistanis call 21st Ramazan Youm-e-Ali (AS), the day of Ali, commander of faithful and pious ruler of Muslims in the past.

Ibn-e-Muljim, a deviant, had stabbed Imam Ali with poisonous sword in 40 Hijri. Due to that blow, he embraced martyrdom.

In Pakistan, Shia mourners bring out mourning processions. People largely attend these congregations.

Clad in black clothes, mourners pay respect and homage to the greatest martyr of the human history Hazrat Ali. His followers revere him as Maula (master, patron and guardian).

Most importantly, both Sunni and Shia Muslims  revere Hazrat Ali. Even non-Muslim research scholars and eminent figure praise him for his unmatched qualities.

Sunni respects him in high esteem because he had remained pious caliph as per their history.

Shia adores him as first Imam of Shia Islam soon after the sad demise of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
