At least 37 Taliban militants were killed and 55 others were injured in military operations in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement that the operations were conducted by Afghan National Police in cooperation with Afghan National Army and Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives, Khaama Press reported.
The statement further added the operations were conducted in Farah, Logar, Laghman, Parwan, Nangarhar and Ghazni provinces.
MoI said Taliban suffered the heaviest casualty in Laghman and Farah provinces and at least one militant was also arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.
“Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds of ammunition,” the statement said.
The statement also added that Afghan National Police discovered and defused two different types of IEDs placed by enemies of Afghanistan for destructive activities in Helmand and Takhar provinces.
