At least 14 Taliban militants were killed and 1 militant was injured in military operations by Afghan national security forces in various provinces of the country.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement that the Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan, Khaama Press reported.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Kunar, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Balkh, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Logar, Khost, Paktia and Farah provinces.
As a result of the operations at least 14 armed Taliban members were killed, 1 militant was injured and 5 others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces, the statement said.
Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds of ammunition, the statement added.
Afghan National Police discovered and defused 13 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during the operations in Farah, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Logar, Uruzgan and Takhar provinces.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
