Six Taliban were killed and eleven others injured in separate military operations in Maidan Wardak province.
Security officials said one Taliban fighter was killed and another wounded after a short gun battle erupted between security forces and Taliban close to Antan security post of Day Mirdad District around 07:00 a.m. this morning, Khaama press reported.
Also, five Taliban insurgents were killed and eleven wounded during military operations in Alishah area of Chak District.
Local officials announced that Mullah Abdul Ghafar Alias Malang, a Taliban commander, is among the ones killed in the operations in Wardak.
Maidan Wardak is the province where 13 civilians were killed in an insurgent attack last week.
A group of unidentified gunmen attack civilian vehicles namely, a 303 passenger bus, a Mazda and a corolla Monday night and fled the area after spraying bullets on civilians leaving 13 killed.
