Some 100 militants have been killed in fresh military operations across Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry said Thursday.
The Ministry of Defense said that 100 militants were killed and 96 others were injured during military operations conducted in eight provinces in the past 24 hours.
The operations were carried out in Manogai and Nari districts of Kunar province, Alishang District of Laghman, Musakhil District of Khost, Baraki Barak District and provincial capital of Logar, Dehrawoud, Charchino and Surab of Urozgan, Gizab and Gujran districts of Daikundi, Shah Wali Kot District of Kandahar, Nawzad, Sangin and Kajaki districts of Helmand province.
Firearms and ammunition were also seized by the security forces.
The ministry further said that 11 soldiers were killed due to insurgent fire and landmine explosion in the past 24 hours.
