Shia Indians in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh call for Baqee reconstruction

Janat-ul-Baqee, is a highly sacred place in Medina near the shrine of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), where there are graves of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA) daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and four Imams of the household of the Prophet. 

Muslims, mainly Shias from all over the world are demanding the reconstruction of Jannatul Baqee from decades. 

Thousands of Muslims including women and children led by Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawwad Sunday took out a protest march against the Saudi government at capital city of Uttar Pradesh. Carrying banners and placards against Saudi Arabia, US and Israel they lodged strong protest against the dilapidated condition of the Jannat-ul-Baqee. 

The participants, chanting slogans against Saudi government demanded the reconstruction of the highly sacred place. 

Earlier, addressing the participants Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawwad Naqvi, an eminent Shia scholar and general secretary of Muslims Ulema-e-Hind said that honour and dignity of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his households is commensurate with giving respect to religion and Shariah. 

Demanding revival of the graves, Jawwad warned Saudi government that protests would continue untill their demands are met. 

Meanwhile, Maulana Umer Ilyasi, President All India Imam Organisation and Maulana Ayub Ashraf, President All India Mohammadi Mission, also addressed the participants. 

They lamented that the shrines of those personalities who enlightened the Shariah and preached the religion all over the world, were lying destructed but several rulers and politicians are playing the role of a silent spectator. 

Meanwhile, a resolution was faxed to the Embassy of Saudi Arabia and the President of India, in New Delhi. 

The resolution called on member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the United Nations to fulfill their commitments and pay due attention to the issue of restoring the honour and dignity of Jannat-ul-Baqee.
