Cleric urges resistance against excessive demands in nuclear talks

Speaking in a meeting with provincial governor-generals on Saturday, Jannati said that US is going to take revenge from Iran and to topple the current administration.

Iran’s Islamic revolution has revealed the real image of US to the world and as a result, US officials want to take revenge and change the regime in Iran, he added.

The official said that the kind of Islamic regime that is desirable to US is the type of regimes which exist in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Jannati noted that even if Iran yields to the P5+1 excessive demands, they will continue pressures and sanctions under the pretext of violation of human rights in Iran.

He referred to US demands for inspection of Iran’s military sites as precondition to ease sanctions and said the only way for resolution of Iran’s economic problems is implementation of resistance economy policies.

The official urged decrease of county’s reliance on oil revenues.

Iranian nuclear team headed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US nuclear team headed by US Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the latest developments in nuclear talks in Geneva on Saturday.

Iranian and P5+1 nuclear teams held three rounds of talks in Vienna as well as other separate talks in New York last Iranian calendar month (April-May) in order to draft the text of final comprehensive deal.

The two sides have set July 30 as the deadline for a final deal.
