Iran advanced radars can detect UAVs

shiitenews iran advanced radars can detaect uavsIran’s Army has successfully equipped the country’s defense system with advanced radars capable of detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a senior Iranian commander says.
Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said the Islamic Republic was now in possession of “radars with multiple frequencies and different wavelengths for detecting unmanned aircraft”.

“No unauthorized unmanned aircraft now dares fly over the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Esmaili said.
The Iranian commander further said that the Air Defense of Iran’s Army was ready to destroy any unauthorized unmanned aircraft in the country’s air space.
The Khatam al- Anbiya Air Defense Base is in charge of coordinating the aerial defense activities of the Iranian Army and Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
In recent years, Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in important military equipment and systems.
In September, Iran equipped its Navy and the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) with a domestically-produced anti-ship stealth missile dubbed Qader (Able).
The cruise missile, that has a range of more than 200 kilometers, has been hailed as a projectile undetectable by the most advanced radar systems and one of a destructive power enough to sink any large battleship.
The Islamic Republic has, however, repeatedly assured that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying the country’s defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
