The 27th International Islamic Unity Conference concluded activities in Tehran on Sunday, stressing the need to fight the takfiri mentality and unify efforts to face attempts to distort Islam.
The communique stressed that the political differences should not be a platform for religious disputes as any sedition will be in the interests of the Muslims’ enemies.
The communique expressed support to Palestine and Lebanon, considering resistance as the right of the peoples and condemning any aggression against the Palestinians and their sanctities.
The participants also denounced the deliberate sabotage acts committed by the Israeli entity against the Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian houses in Jerusalem.
The 3-day conference unanimously elected Syria’s Grand Mufti, Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun as the Head of the General Assembly of the International Complex for the Approximation between Islamic Sects.
