Supreme Leader: Iran should contribute to promotion of science worldwide

leader revolutionAddressing the Head, researchers and directors of University Jihad, Ayatollah Khamenei said the requisite for right and speedy movement in the scientific domain are Jihadi work and management and strengthening the spirit of self-reliance, while preserving the revolutionary and Islamic values and carefully drawing up the position and duties under a comprehensive scientific plan.

The Supreme Leader said University Jihad is an important institution because it is linked both with university, as bastion of science and scientific progress of the country, and Jihadi efforts without being stopped as a result of obstructions and disturbances.

The Paramount Leader, noting that piety, divine intention and reliance on God Almighty are part and parcel of Jihadi Movement, adding that such a mentality and spirit in scientific works would open up the ways towards scientific progress.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Supreme Leader quoted Holy Quran as saying that any hardworking and prolific individual would reach his/her objective and said however, distinction should be made between quality of the product and progress made within the frameworks of efforts, featured by divine and non-divine directions.

Ayatollah Khamenei said today, despite extensive scientific achievements in various domains, dangers, damage, degradation and power mongering are among the problems facing human beings leading to many sufferings and pains for them.

Ayatollah Khamenei said if Iranˈs scientific movement continues its forward-looking progress for the next 150 years, the Iranian nationˈs achievements would be times higher than those of a country like the US. Narrow the countryˈs scientific and knowledge gap with the world would be possible in light of Jihadi movement, added the Supreme Leader.

The Paramount Leader further instructed University Jihad to avoid dealing with minor issues and instead focus on fundamental affairs.
