Hizbullah and Jumblat led PSP meet to promote direct dialgoue. The meeting held at the residence of former minister Ghazi Aridi, as part of regular meetings between the leaders of Hizbullah and the Progressive Socialist Party.

According to a PSP statement, discussions focused on the need for an agreement to address the general political situation. Furthermore, both emphasised need for agreement to resolve serious economic, social and financial crisis in Lebanon,
Moreover, the two sides agreed to promote direct dialogue and communication. They also agreed to stabilize cooperation in governmental, parliamentary and union fields.
Hajj Hussein el-Khalil, political assistant to Hizbullah Secretary General, Minister Mohammed Fneish, MPs Ali Ammar, Hussein Hajj Hassan and Hassan Fadlallah represented Hizbullah.
Ministers Akram Sehayyeb and Wael Abou Faour, MPs Hadi Abulhasan and Bilal Abdullah, Secretary General Zafer Nasser and others represented PSP.
Although the meeting held Tuesday evening, yet PSP issued statement on Wednesday.
Interestingly, this meeting reflected the complexity of Lebanon’s political realities. On the one hand, PSP remains an ally of Saad Hariri’s Future Movement. And on the other it remains engaged with Hizbullah.
And sometimes, Walid Jumblat led PSP wage battle of words and accusations with both. Surprisingly, all parties are used to this trend that left the outside world agape.
