Hezbollah Secretary General Syed Hassan Nasrallah called on Tuesday to continue investigations over the Ethiopian air plane crash, with adequate diligence and speed, to end contradictory explanations and quick analyses. His eminence urged the cabinet to ensure a real Lebanese national readiness on the human, logistical and technical levels to be able to confront such disasters and efficiently save what can be saved. While delivering a televised message to extend condolences to families of the Ethiopian plane crash victims, Syed Nasrallah saluted the prompt response of the Lebanese State with all of its authorities and the serious efforts exerted to identify the reasons of the plane crash disaster and to treat its consequences  YOUR GRIEF IS OUR GRIEF, YOUR PAIN IS OUR PAIN Syed Nasrallah started his speech by apologizing from the families’ victims for not being able to be with them and personally offer condolences. “My duty is to be with you in such sensitive moments but the known circumstances prevent me from doing so,” his eminence said. “But I’ll address you today just like if I were with you in your homes.” While expressing his condolences to the families, Syed Nasrallah said that Hezbollah joins them in their grief and sorrow. “Your grief is our grief, your pain is our pain,” his eminence said, addressing the families. “We in Hezbollah strongly perceive the real feelings you have at this moment because throughout all previous years we had the same feeling when we lost our beloved ones.” “Yesterday, you lost people who mean a lot for you at human, emotional and national levels. We in Hezbollah, just like everyone, would like to stand by your side and ask God Almighty to provide you with the ability to endure and overcome this disaster.”  LIFE BASED ON TESTS AND HOW TO CONFRONT ORDEALS Syed Nasrallah emphasized that the catastrophes are many in life, recalling that life is based on tests and how to confront ordeals. “Catastrophes vary but the greatest one remains losing the beloved ones. Yet, we believe that nothing is eternal in life. We’re God’s possession, he created us and he’s the only one able to control us so our life and death remains in its hands, he decides when to get us back.”  Stressing on the religious perspective of the tragic incident, Syed Nasrallah also noted that those victims, in their majority, have been working for years for a better life for their families and country. “Even if they were expatriates, residing abroad for a long time, they never forgot their country,” Syed Nasrallah added. “Since they are from this category of people, then there is no doubt they would have a value and dignity for God,” his eminence pointed out, seeking to calm the families down. “Prophet Mohamad peace be upon him has said that those who work hard to help their families are similar to the Mujahideen who struggle for the sake of God Amighty.”  FINDING BODIES HUMANITARIAN, EMOTIONAL AND LEGITIMATE DEMAND Turning to the political side of the event, Hezbollah Secretary General saluted the prompt response of the Lebanese State with all of its authorities and the serious efforts exerted to identify the reasons of the plane crash disaster and to treat its consequences. His eminence also expressed “high appreciation” for the aid presented to Lebanon from UNIFIL and some countries.  Syed Nasrallah then called for continuing efforts to retrieve the victims’ bodies, even if the rescue operations would take a longer time. “Finding the bodies is a humanitarian, emotional and legitimate demand and relieves the families’ suffering and pain,” his eminence said, stressing that quick retreat wouldn’t be permissible.  NO FAMILY WOULD ACCEPT TO REMAIN IN STATE OF CONFUSION His eminence also called for continuing investigations, with adequate diligence and speed, to end contradictory explanations and quick analyses, noting that discovering the truth would be very important at the psychological level for the families but also at the national level to specify the weaknesses and deal with them to avoid recurrence of such incidents. “No family would accept to remain in a state of doubt and confusion and vagueness for what happened to its loved ones,” his eminence pointed out.  IT’S NOT NORMAL TO WAIT FOR OTHERS’ ASSISTANCE Hezbollah Secretary General urged, meanwhile, the Lebanese government to ensure a real Lebanese national readiness on the human, logistical and technical levels to be able to confront such disasters and efficiently save what can be saved. His eminence called the cabinet to give priority to the issue to save souls that can be saved, adding that it is not normal to have to wait for others’ assistance whenever something happens. “We have capabilities that enable us to have national readiness to ensure the fastest interference to face such disasters,” his eminence explained.  IT’S NOT ACCEPTABLE TO WAIT FOR TRAGEDIES TO LISTEN TO COMPATRIOTS Sayyed Nasrallah also called for officials to make use of the incident to listen to the demands of the expatriates, particularly those in Africa, who have rightful demands and real problems with their trips. “We heard complaints from their families yesterday,” his eminence said, while noting that it wasn’t acceptable to wait for tragedies to listen to compatriots and help them face their problems. “These expatriates have great belief in Lebanon’s resistance, in good living and in reconstruction. Many have travelled to allow their families to remain in Lebanon.”  Hezbollah Secretary General concluded his speech by renewing his warmest condolences and comforts for the victims’ families and asking God for granting them patience and solace and for the victims God’s Mercy and Forgiveness.
