The coalition of the opposition Peaceful Change Forces stressed that the crisis in Syria requires special political solutions. In a statement released on Monday, the Coalition indicated to a roadmap it has set up that “serves as a subject of dialogue for a safe exit from the crisis and achieving the peaceful democratic change.” Fateh Jamous, Head of the Peaceful Change Path Movement, which is part of the coalition, said that the roadmap aims at “reaching legal and political agreement to change the structure, form and approach of the regime peacefully and gradually to a modern democratic regime through dialogue.” The roadmap suggests several steps that “could contribute to making the dialogue more rational” through ending violence, providing a TV channel for the opposition, allowing peaceful demonstrations, holding corrupted figures to account , and allowing the political and popular opposition forces to take part in these files. The coalition called upon the “armed opposition” to unblock the roads to be put at the disposal of the Syrian army, help provide relief aid and services, stop any provocative speech regarding foreign interference and accept dialogue as the way to end the crisis. The coalition also called for a unified opposition conference and another one for dialogue with the regime without preconditions. The statement highlighted the coalition’s stress on enhancing the role of the state and the army and confronting all forms of foreign interference, specially the stances of the Turkish government. The Coalition includes, besides the Peaceful Change Path Movement, the Public Will Party, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, the Third Movement for Syria, the Democratic Marxist Assembly and the National Work Movement.
