Five people, including a police cop lost their lives and another three dozen injured in the Quetta blast on Tuesday that many believes a suicide bombing.
Notably, the blast occurred outside City Police Station in Liaquat Bazaar.
Also, DIG Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema said the explosion occurred near police vehicle at the Bacha Khan Chowk in the area of the City Police Station.
Resultantly, police van completely destroyed and nearby shops severely damaged.
Soon after the blast, police cordoned off the blast site, whereas, the injured persons rushed to nearby hospitals.
Meanwhile, DIG Cheema said the injured included an additional Station House Officer (SHO) taken to a medical trauma centre for treatment.
Two children and a woman also among the injured, police said.
Furthermore, Police officials said terrorists had planted explosive material in a motorcycle and parked it near the police vehicle.
Moreover, the injured and bodies of the dead were shifted to the Civil Hospital, where officials confirmed the death toll.
Meanwhile, Balochistan home minister Zia Langu said the blast occurred at 7:19 PM in a populated area of Quetta.
Further, he said that the security forces had reduced the power of terrorists. But, the cross border terrorism will reduce once the Afghan border will be fenced, he asserted.
