The 8th Muharram mourning processions brought out

Shia Muslims brought out mourning processions of 8th Muharram all over the country on Sunday.

Millions of mourners (azadars) participated in those processions to pay homage to the great Martyrs of Karbala, particularly Imam Hussain (AS).

Earlier, Majlis-e-Aza or mourning congregations were also held.

Furthermore, azadars beat their chests amid nohas from matami anjumans. Almost all were wailing Ya Hussain while beating their chests.

Moreover, heavy contingents of police and rangers were deployed at and around the route of processions.
Shops in Saddar, MA Jinnah road and surrounding areas remained closed.
Meanwhile, Shia scouts and volunteers also assisted and facilitated administration officials.

The azadari processions are brought out across Pakistan to commemorate the martyrdoms of Imam Hussain and his companions in Karbala battle.

In Lahore, Shias took out mourning procession from Mori gate. In Islamabad, they brought out procession from Jamia Ali Murtaza Peshawar Mor which ended at G-9/2.

Similarly, azadars also largely participated in matami juloos in Multan and other small and big cities across Pakistan.

Notably, all cities in Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Balochistan saw 8th Moharram processions.
