Iran launches e visa for Pakistanis to promote people to people contact and tourism.
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad and its consulates in Pakistan launched e-visa service for Pakistani nationals.
Iran launches e visa
The Iranian embassy in Islamabad and its four consulates in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta began the service from Sunday. It will also help promote bilateral trade.
Furthermore, concerned official at the Iran Embassy Mohammad Sorkhabi said that electronic visas aim to facilitate the movement of Pakistani citizens.
Tourism and trade relations
He noted it would facilitate Pakistanis visits to various Iranian cities. That will promote tourism.
Specially, e-visa service will also speed up business between Pakistan and Iran.
Annually, hundreds of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims travel to Iran for pilgrimage to holy sites in Mashhad and Qom.
Moreover, similar numbers use Iran as a transit route for pilgrimage of Karbala, Najaf, Kazimain and Samarra in Iraq.
Pakistan also has identical policy
Earlier, Pakistan had also decided to provide e visa on arrival facility to the citizens of 48 countries, including Iran.
This shows growing and strengthening relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Pakistan Iran growing ties
During the tenure of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Pakistan Army Chief, military relations with Iran has witnessed improvement.
Specially, he has visited Iran thrice. However, it included one visit along with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit that aimed for deescalation in Persian Gulf region.
Moreover, Prime Minister Khan also has made two visits to Iran.
