Allama Sajid Naqvi hopes UN role for Kashmir to emulate East Timor.
Veteran Islamic scholar and leader of Shia Ulema Council Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said this while commenting on UN secretary general Pakistan visit.
He appreciated United Nations secretary general António Guterres for his four-day visit to Pakistan.

He said that United Nations must play a fair role to dispel the impression that it toes the line of big powers.
Allama Sajid further pointed that UN needs to play active role to help resolve the issues of Palestine and Kashmir.
He reminded the UN secretary general that Narendra Modi-led India has stiffened siege of occupied Kashmir (IOK). He said India’s controversial citizenship law also targets Muslims in particular.
The SUC leader lamented that US President Donald Trump’s so-called deal of the century also aims at imposing Israeli occupation.
Hence, he urged UN secretary general to play the role which he played in the case of East Timor.
Meanwhile, he also highlighted the sacrifices which Pakistan has made for regional and global peace.
