Pakistan Iran senior officials nod extraordinary border security measures during their latest meeting.

Senior officials of Iran and Pakistan met in Iranian border city of Mirjaveh.

They decided to take extraordinary measures for border security.

Notably, the two sides decided to have comprehensive security arrangements on the eve of the Iranian Parliamentary.

Iran is bracing for parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on February 21.

According to Urdu daily Ausaf, both countries agreed to take extra measures to ensure border security during the elections.

Deputy Commander of Border Guards of Marzaban Zone Colonal Heidar Maryidi led the eight-member Iranian delegation.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Chaghi District of Balochistan province Mir Badal Khan Dashti led Pakistan’s five-member delegation.

Pakistan and Iran’s governments have enhanced bilateral cooperation on border security after some elements tried to sow seeds of differences.

Terror groups and separatists pose threat to both countries.
