Allama Ali Rizvi convinces traders to end protest gatherings in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
The business community had to begin protest because of closure of businesses due to lockdown that badly impacted their livelihoods.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen GB chapter secretary general Allama Syed Agha Ali Rizvi visited venues where traders were protesting.
Protesters include shopkeepers engaged in selling clothes and shoes and other businesses. They have shops at Main Skardu Chowk, Alambardar Chowk and Benazir Chowk.
MWM GB leader Agha Ali Rizvi persuaded them to disperse peacefully.
Later he accompanied Anjuman Tajiran leaders and held talks with the Commissioner Baltistan Division and Deputy Commissioner Skardu.
They requested the GB provincial government and divisional and district administration to chalk out a mechanism for commercial activities in accordance with the SOP regarding Covid19 related precautionary measures.
Allama Agha Ali Rizvi urged the government to ensure that traders and common man get relief because lockdown made it next to impossible to make both ends meet.
