Shia Muslims mourning processions fill the streets across Pakistan on 8th Moharram

Mourning processions are being taken out on Sunday8th Muharram in different all big cities and small towns and hamlets across Pakistan to pay homage to the Great Martyrs of Karbala.

In Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, main procession of 8th Muharram was taken out from Jamia Murtaza that passed through its traditional route and culminated after Maghrib prayers at Imam Bargah Jamia tus Sadiq.

Karachi, the commercial capital of Pakistan witnessed a huge Matami juloos or mourning procession that began from Nishtar Park and passed through Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khorasan, Numaish Chowrangi, and M.A. Jinnah road and culminated in Imam Bargah Hussainiyeh Iranian.

Shia Muslims of Punjab province’s capital Lahore, brought out main mourning procession from Mori Gate and, after passing through its traditional route, ended at Imam Bargah Bait-ur-Raza in the Palm Street area New Anarkali.

In Rawalpindi, the mourning procession emerged from Bakery Chowk at around 6pmand culminated at Dhok Rata Road late night.

In Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province, main azadari procession started from Imam Bargah Syed Najaf Ali Shah and two other processions from Sadar area this evening.

The procession of 8th Muharram in Bahawalnagar was taken out fron Imam Bargah Bab-e-Ali in Muhalla Amirkot. The participants were reciting Nohas and beating their chests. The procession culminated at Jamia tuz Zahra.

In Attock, main 8th Muharram procession was taken out from Imam Bargah Panjtani. All markets and shops along the route of procession remained closed. The procession culminated at Main Imam Bargah Campbellpur Sayadan after passing through Madni Chowk, Fawara Chowk and Committee Chowk.

Thigh security arrangements were made in Hangu for 8th Muharram procession which started from Bahadur Garhi and culminated at Pass Kali Qaumi Imam Bargah.

The procession of 8th Muharram in Hasilpur was taken out from Imam Bargah Qasr e Batool amid tight security. In Bhalwal, Shabih-e-Zuljanah procession was taken out from Khaima-e-Sadaat.
