However, the terrorists opened fire after having seen the CTD team.
The counterterrorism department’s personnel of Punjab police retaliated. Resultantly, five terrorists lost their lives.
Cops found arms and a bomb of 10 to 15 kg lying near the dead terrorists.
A team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused the bomb after reaching on the operational spot.
According to BDS in-charge Ghulam Abbas, they defused the remote-control bomb and foiled a major plot aimed at terrorism.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the terrorists were removed to DHQ Rajanpur hospital.
District Police Officer (DPO) Ahsan Saifullah said police was taking part in the operation launched by security forces.
Identifications and addresses of deceased terrorists would be unveiled after completing investigation.
A heavy contingent of security force was deputed in different parts of tehsil Rojhan while search operation was continued till the filling of this report.
On the other hand, terrorists shot dead a police officer in Karachi near Northern Bypass on Thursday.
According to police, Sub-Inspector Yar Mohammad was serving at the Gulshan-e-Maymar police station.
Sub-inspector Yar Muhammad, 54, was traveling on his motorcycle with another policeman Ghous Bakhsh in plainclothes.
The armed motorcyclists opened fire on him.
