Simultaneous sits-in across Pakistan to protest against genocide of Shia Muslims

shiakillingShia Muslims showed their mass support on Tuesday when they came to streets on a call from Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organization.
The call for sit-in was given to protest against genocide of Shia Muslims in Pakistan.
Millat e Jafaria or Shia Muslims from entire country simultaneously staged a token sit-in from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Apart from Karachi and Islamabad sits-in, where central leadership spoke, Shia Muslims staged sit-in at 6 places in Skardu of Gilgit Baltistan. Faizabad Rawalpindi, Press Club in Lahore, Khushab Road Sargodha, Hyderabad, Sukkur National Highway, Rohri, Larkana, Nawabshah, Quetta, Parachinar, and Peshawar also witnessed sit-in protest.
It was for the first time in the history of Pakistan that a simultaneous countrywide sit-in was staged. To many it may be surprising that protest was also staged in all over the world including in Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain, U.S., U.K., France and Canada.
These protests have conveyed many messages to Shia Muslims, Government and all other stakeholders. One message was common for all that surrender is no option.
Shia Muslims are the most peaceful populace but injustices are done to them. Their legitimate and inalienable rights are usurped. Nobody comes forward to express sympathy with Shia Muslims. Government’s lip-service and empty promises have not yet sorted out the problems and grievances of Shia Muslims.
Kohistan Tragedy in Gilgit Baltistan province claimed 16 lives but ferocity of the culprits equated them with Pharaoh. No concrete action was taken against the culprits involved in the genocide of Shia Muslims and then came Chilas Tragedy.
Ruling coalition parties were also warned for their threats to peaceful Shia Muslims in Karachi.
Neither human rights organizations nor United Nations have taken notice of the genocide of Shia Muslims. It is totally unfair.
