Shia leadership played leading role to get besieged people’s release in Nagar
Agha Rahat Hussaini, Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafaria Gilgit, led a delegation of Markazi Anjuman-e-Imamia in Nagar. The delegates met Shia scholars and notables in Nagar and held talks with them.
At least 33 people were besieged there. They helped recover besieged people and all 33 recovered persons were handed over to the officials.
The recovered persons expressed happiness over their release and they also thanked Shia religious scholars and people of Nagar in particular.
It is relevant to add here that Shia Muslims again proved their hospitality despite the fact that many Shia Muslims were martyred and many were missing so far since Chilas Tragedy but they did not take revenge to settle score with the attackers.
On the other hand, curfew imposed for last nine days continued in Gilgit on Wednesday. Body of Roohullah, a martyr of Chilas Tragedy was taken to Skardu on Wednesday. Skardu was wrapped in mourning. The martyr’s namaz-e-janaza was held and he was laid to rest.
The protestors raised slogans against federal interior minister for his double standards and hypocrisy with people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
