AKUH doctors avert blast injured’s amputation

KARACHI- Three injured, under treatment at AKUH including Muhammad Yousuf, Hussain Taiyab and Imran Ramazan, said that President Zardari did not pay visit to us but he had sent bouquet for the patients. They said that Iranian Counsel General also visited us and gave us Rs 10,000 each. AKUH saves injured from amputation Dr Haroonur Rasheed, a senior orthopaedic at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), told The Nation that a medical team of the AKUH had saved the legs of a blast injured, namely Imran Ramazan from amputation. The injured’s condition was critical,

 he said, adding that another operation of the injured would be carried out on Tuesday (today) however, his condition was out of danger. Dr Rasheed said that two more injured were expected to be discharged within couple of days. When Imran Ramazan was asked about the condition after the blast, he said that he was very near to the place where the bomb had exploded. He said, “Just after the blast I fell unconscious that is why I can’t explain about the scene after the blast. He expressed his gratitude for doctors and paramedical staff, saying that all doctors and other staff had played pivotal role in his recovery.
