Malik Ishaq, a leader of outlawed terrorist group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi/Sipah-e-Sahaba, was arrested in Lahore on Thursday.
Reports had it that he was arrested at Lahore airport on his return from Saudi Arabia. Some sources claimed that he was taken into custody in Saudi Arabia by relevant Pakistani authorities and was brought to Pakistan.
Malik Ishaq is wanted in cases of terrorism and provocative speeches against Muslims. He is a known terrorist of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Sipah-e-Sahaba who had claimed responsibility for massacre of Shiites in Pakistan.
The LeJ and Sipah-e-Sahaba had also been involved in the murders of Sunni Bralevis and attacks on and desecration of shrines of saints.
Pro-Pakistan elements, true Muslims and anti-terrorism quarters across the country have expressed satisfaction over the arrest of Malik Ishaq. They expressed hope that pro-terrorists elements in the Punjab Government wouldnâ€™t be able to get Malik Ishaq out of jail again.
