Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief and member of National Assembly Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao was targeted in a suicide attack in Charsadda Thursday evening, where he had gone to attend a funeral procession, reported DawnNews.
According to latest reports, a suicide bomber rushed towards his caravan as it was passing through Kangra Batgram area in an apparent attempt to assassinate Sherpao, who remained unharmed.
Sherpao’s son Sikandar Khan Sherpao and a member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly were also part of the caravan.
DPO Charsadda said the blast killed one policeman and there are fears the death toll could rise. He said the suicide bomber was Around “22 to 23 years old.”
