Roads deserted as Karachi mourns blasts

jos_karachi-strike-300x139 The atmosphere in Sindh province especially in Karachi was presenting deserted look on Saturday as the city is mourning the deaths and victims of Karachi twin blasts occurred on Friday on the occasion of Arbaeen (Chehlum) of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). The strike call was given by Jafaria Alliance President Allama Abbas Kumaili along other scholars and leaders of Shia organizations of karachi inclduing Imamia Students Organization (ISO) , Imamia Organization (IO) , Majlis Wehdat Muslameen (MWM), SHia Ulema Council (SUC), Markazi Tanzeema Aza (MTA) and others organizations at his home late on Friday night. According to the Shiite News Correspondent, Karachi Transport Ittehad has also announced the support of strike by keeping all the transport busses on ground whereas City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has announced closure of all schools operating under CDGK. The markets and business places have been remain closed due in the Sindh Province especially in karachi to morun the bloody twin bomb blast in karachi on mourners of Imam Hussain (AS). Traffic and business activities remain closed in the wake of Shiite organizations called a strike to mourn those killed in Friday blasts. The strike call was supported by different POlitical, transport and traders organizations, inclduing MQM, ANP, PPP, PML-N, PML-Q and other organizations to denounce the bomb blast on Moruners. Examinations in the Karachi University have been canceled whereas attendance remained low in offices and schools. However, Jafaria Allaince Pakistan, Imamia Students Organization, Shia Ulema COuncil and local Shia Organizations were stage protest demonstration across the Sindh Province to condemn the twin bomb blast on mourners of Imam Hussain (AS) on Arbaeen. The troops of police and rangers are patrolling the city and checking vehicles at different points. Meanwhile, Sindh Assembly which went into session at 11-50 a.m. with Acting Speaker Shehla Raza in the chair, was adjourned till Monday after offering fateha for all those who lost their lives in the two bomb blasts at Sharea Faisal and Jinnah Hospital on Monday. Sindh Law Minister Mohammed Ayaz Soomro requested the Acting Speaker that every body is sad and gloomy on Friday’s tragedies in which so many precious lives were lost and in mourning today’s session be adjourned till Monday. He said that Fateha be offered for all the departed souls as well as for the workers of MQM, who were among the shaheeds. He also condemned the treatment meted out to media and journalists by certain mischievous elements while they were performing their professional responsibilities. He said that there had been peace and tranquillity in Sindh for about two years, perhaps, this was not liked by conspiring elements who did not want to see democracy strengthen and flourish. He appealed to every one to get united and thwart the conspiracies for the cause of people of Sindh.
