Karbala was not a war between two Princes rather between two Characters: Masoom Naqvi
The head of jamiat e Ulema Pakistan Niazi and the Sajjada Nasheen of Aastana e Hussaini Peer Masoom Hussain Naqvi while paying tribute to the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (as) and his companions said “Karbala was not a war between two Princes rather between two Characters that human history can never forget till the day of Judgement”.
While addressing the Paigham e Karbala (message of Karbala) Conference in Lahore Peer Masoom Naqvi said “Had Imam Hussain (as) not stood up against the fitnah of Yazeed and not given sacrifice Islam could not have reached us in its true form. Imam Hussain’s stance gave the courage to oppressed people to stand against the repressive and cruel rulers and today, Imam Hussain (as) is the leader of those who have taken a stand against the repressive forces in Kashmir, Palestine, Syria and Iraq”.
“Hussaini character is needed to fight against the Yazeedi forces of present era and to achieve that it is imperative to have a pious and virtuous character”, he added.
He further said “Karbala is the common heritage of Muslims and no one should conspire to make it conflicting and limited to only one sect. Every Muslim mourns for Imam Hussain (as), his way of mourning might be different but since the love of Ahl e Bait (as) (Family of the Last Prophet) is the component of faith no Muslim could even think of deviating from it. There is no conflict between Muslims over Imam Hussain (as) being on the right (Haq) and Yazeed on the Batil (falseness), Karbala is the revolution and Hussaini character that directs its followers towards the path of freedom (Nijat).
