Mourning congregations and processions in accordance with Imam Sajjad (as)’s martyrdom
In accordance with martyrdom day of Imam Sajjad (as) i.e. 25th Muharram ul Haram mourning congregations and processions were held in the entire country in which speakers and scholars threw light on character and life of Imam Sajjad (as). Speakers said “Imam Syed Sajjad (as) was an illustration of patience, the example of jihad that He performed after the Karbala incident is nowhere to be found. Whatever we have today in the form of Azadari (mourning) that reached us only because of Imam Sajjad (as)’s sacrifices therefore, it is the responsibility of all Shias to protect this Azadari both from internal and external threats because Imam Sajjad (as) and Bibi Zainab (sa) delivered us the Azadari by bearing all hardships in Syria, Kufa and after facing Yazeed and Ibn e Ziyad in their Durbars.
25th Muharram ul Haram of 95 Hijri brought huge pain and misery for all momineen when the Caliph of Umayyad dynasty Hasham bin Abdul Malik poisoned Imam Sajjad (as) and martyred Him. His funeral prayer was led by Imam Baqar (as) and his burial took place with grandeur.
Imam Sajjad (as) kept mourning all His life after the Karbala incident over the way His father was martyred in Karbala and could not even get a shroud and daughters of the last Prophet (PBUH) had to pass through markets of Syria without Hijabs.
