Quetta: Suicide attack on Polio Centre by banned Ahl e Sunnat wal Jamat (Ramzan Mengal group), 13 police officials martyred
Shiite News: A blast near a polio centre in Satellite Town area of Quetta killed 14 people whereas more than 10 were injured.
Baluchistan’s Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti while confirming the death of 14 people in the blast said that the blast could possibly be suicide attack.
Majority of the epopel martyred and injured in the blast were security officials. According to Sarfraz Bugti, 13 of the martyrs were police officials and 1 was from FC.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Quetta told that 7-8 kg of explosive was used in the blast. According to rescue sources, injured of the blast were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta and emergency has been declared in the hospital.
Senior Doctor Rasheed Jamali wahile talking to Dawn told that 5 severely injured people had been shifted to CMH Quetta. According to eye witnesses, glasses of nearby buildings were broken as a result of the blast and firing was also heard in the area.
Police and rescue teams immediately reached to the location after the blast and security forces cordoned off the area.
Ramzan Mengal group of Ahl e Sunna wal Jamat had been found to be involved in various attacks that had taken place in Quetta but despite that no action has been taken against it which is quite worrying.
