Question changed in Hajj form, people expressed satisfaction
Shiite News: Ministry for religious affairs has informed Lahore High court that the question related to Shia sect in Hajj form has been altered. After this, Justice Ayesha A. Malik ended the case.
The application was submitted by three citizens including Syed Tahir Hussain Zanjani. On behalf of them Advocate Syeda Masuma Zehra Bukhari said that ministry for religious affairs have included a conflicting question in Hajj policy form regarding Shia sect which hurts the sentiments of people belong to this sect. People have been asked whether they are Shia or not? Which is a violation of basic human rights.
She requested the court to either amend or exclude the question from Hajj Performa. Government’s lawyer in a written reply said that the conflicting question has been amended to “Do you want facilities according to Shia sect?”
Those who had submitted the application also expressed satisfaction over the amendment after which the court ended the case.
