Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police gunned down three more Deobandi terrorists of a banned Wahhabis-allied takfiri outfit during a raid conducted in Gujranwala on Monday night.
According to CTD sources, the raid was conducted in the limits of Aroop Police Station after information about the presence of five terrorists. They opened fire upon CTD police cops and lost their lives in a shootout. Two managed to escape.
Kalashnikov, pistol and explosive material were also recovered during the raid.
On the other hand CTD Multan sources said that an intelligence-based search operation was conducted in Khanewal where 6 takfiri Deobandi suspects of the banned outfit were taken into custody. They were shifted to unknown place for interrogation. Arms were also seized from their possession.
They were said to be members of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and proscribed ASWJ working for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban and Daesh.
It is also relevant to add here that CTD of Sindh Police have arrested Gul Amin, a commander of Deobandi terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Swat group in Karachi who had a prize on rupees 4 million on arrest. Arms were seized from him.
