An amazing and interesting disclosure has been made by lieutenant general Amjad Shoaib (retired) in a media talk show that the incumbent government was given a proposal by the top intelligence agency of the country that violent extremists including those belonging to Southern Punjab be recruited in Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC).
Retired military general disclosed at a talk show hosted by renowned journalist Arif Nizami that Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had given two proposals to the federal government in April this year and one of that is a proposed plan to segregate violent extremists and recruit them in the rangers and the FC after de-radicalising them. It is relevant to add here that proscribed ASWJ, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and such other banned Deobandi takfiri outfits were based in southern Punjab.
In that program, retired general Amjad Shoaib had earlier admitted that banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Daesh were working under one umbrella.
The other proposal was to bring the banned Jamaatud Dawa and those banned outfits of southern Punjab into mainstream politics.
He said that one proposal was referred to National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) where it was put in cold storage.
Patriot Pakistani citizens have raised questions then why culprits of other crimes were imprisoned and were being convicted for their crimes. Why they were not pardoned and recruited in the security agencies? Why innocent Shia Muslims were being taken into illegal custody and why they were not being offered similar package even though they are not violent extremists. They asked if they should resort to violent extremism first to qualify for that proposed booty for violent extremists.
