Allama Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen was arrested early yesterday for exercising his legal right to protest against injustices being done to Shia Muslims in all over Pakistan. He was released on bail yesterday noon.
The Shia scholar was booked in a case by Soldier Bazaar Police for leading a peaceful protest rally against the witch-hunt against Shia Muslims by biased security officials and state-sponsored persecution through equating peaceful and patriot senior Shia clerics with banned terrorist outfits’ ringleaders.
After his release, he was one of the members of the Shia delegation that called on Sindh chief minister at the CM House in Karachi.
On Tuesday, he inquired about health of injured of yesterday Malir protest who were admitted to private hospital for treatment.
